Professional Staff
Jodi Hirschfield Executive Director
Jodi's deep experience in the Jewish community includes development, community relations and special events roles with The Alfred & Adele Davis Academy, Jewish Educational Loan Fund and the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta. More recently, she has held key strategic, marketing and development roles in professional services industries. Jodi has also held positions with nonprofits such as United Way and American Cancer Society. An avid community volunteer, Jodi's leadership includes serving as a Board Member of Hillels of Georgia and Solidarity Sandy Springs. Jodi lives in Sandy Springs with her husband, Jordan, and has a son and daughter who attend the University of Georgia.
Denise Deitchman Programming Manager
Denise's professional career includes experience as an Advertising Executive, Health Coach and Non-Profit Manager, including many years leading the Volunteer Division of Jewish Family & Career Services in Atlanta. Denise is currently serving as Board President of Congregation Dor Tamid. Originally from New York, Alpharetta has been home for the last 19 years, where Denise lives with her husband, Seth, daughter and son.
Suzanne Hurwitz Grants Manager
Suzanne Hurwitz has worked in the Jewish community the entirety of her professional career. Her experience includes programming, informal and formal education, community building and more. She has worked in a variety of settings including synagogues, the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta and Jewish Family & Children’s Service of the Suncoast. She grew up in Toronto, Canada and received her Masters in Social Work and a certificate in Jewish Communal Service and Jewish Studies from the University of Michigan.
Judy C. Marx Operations Manager
Judy came to JWFA as a sought-after consultant focusing on community-based organizations and interfaith efforts. Judy spent 12½ years with American Jewish Committee where she served as the Atlanta Director, as well as the Founding Director of the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival. She remains active with AJFF, as a committee co-chair, speaker and film evaluator. Judy has been recognized for her professional and volunteer leadership in the Jewish and interfaith communities and continues to give her time to a variety of causes, especially her congregation and hunger-fighting organizations.
